MINSK, 4 September (BelTA) – Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark) intends to start an assembly enterprise in Cambodia in 2013. The information was released by Alexander Kazakevich, Deputy Director of the company’s Marketing Center for Non-CIS Markets, BelTA has learned.
According to Alexander Kazakevich, the construction of the assembly enterprise in Cambodia is nearly finished. There are plans to install technological equipment and an assembly line soon, he said.
The executive also added that among other areas the enterprise will target Latin America, including Brazil, which is considered to be the largest market for tractors. “This market is very interesting for us because its capacity will only grow larger. A team of MTZ specialists is in Brazil now negotiating prospects of our future work,” noted Alexander Kazakevich.
MTZ also has certain plans regarding the exploration of markets in Peru, Chile, and Bolivia, said the executive.
Minsk Tractor Works designs, manufactures, and exports wheeled tractors, spare parts, licenses out their manufacturing, provides tuning and aftersales services.
For several years the company’s share of the global market of wheeled tractors has been at 8-10%. MTZ is one of the world’s top eight wheeled tractor manufacturers.
At present MTZ comprises eight enterprises in Belarus as well as their daughter enterprises. Apart from that, Minsk Tractor Works is working hard in over 60 markets and runs assembly enterprises in Russia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, China, Romania, Egypt, Serbia, Algeria, Venezuela, and other countries.
